Margaret Ann "Peggy" Kowalski
March 4, 1941 – October 9, 2026
Margaret Ann "Peggy" Kowalski, 85, of Parma, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2026, at home, surrounded by family.
Life
Peggy was born on March 4, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Joseph and Helen (Novak) Brennan. She grew up in the Tremont neighborhood and graduated from St. Augustine Academy in 1959.
In 1963, she married Walter Kowalski, and together they raised four children in the same house on Ridgewood Drive for 58 years. Peggy worked as a nurse at Parma Community Hospital for 31 years, where she trained a generation of young nurses and was known for remembering every patient's name.
Peggy loved her garden, Sunday pierogi dinners and the Cleveland Guardians, win or lose. She never met a stranger, and she could mend anything with a needle, a little patience and a cup of tea. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish for more than fifty years and volunteered with its food pantry every Tuesday.
Family
Peggy is survived by her children, Michael (Lisa) Kowalski of Columbus, Anne Kowalski of Denver, Thomas (Rosa) Kowalski of Parma and Kathleen (David) Moore of Strongsville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her sister, Joan Murphy; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Walter, in 2021, and by her parents and her brother, James Brennan.
